My field will be to take care of the coherent spatial development of the city and quality interventions in the space, which requires cooperation with the departments and services of the city administration as well as public companies. The main goal I have set for myself is the pursuit of a vision of natural and coherent, integrated development of the city in line with contemporary professional principles. I will strive for high-quality, connected and well-maintained public space and high-quality architectural and landscape architectural interventions in the city.
The key factors are the unburdening of the centre with congestions on the outskirts and its connection with the landscape hinterland of the open space of green wedges, urban forests and the water area of the Ljubljanica River and Sava River. A comprehensive renovation of the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship is needed, and better connectivity of the network of cycling paths must be ensured. Energy utilization of the Ljubljanica River with a circular waterway represents one of the most important development impulses and will bring the river even closer to the city.
A special theme is nature protection, which offers an opportunity to renovate the ZOO into a modern nature conservation centre. Along with the careful development of new residential neighbourhoods and comprehensive, including earthquake-proof renovation of existing ones, it will be essential to regulate stationary traffic. In connection with the better efficiency of public passenger transport, linked with dynamic group transport and the railway, with the aim of transforming it into a regional railway after constructing an unburdening freight and high-speed line. Because I love Ljubljana, I will strive for an exemplary and comprehensive renovation of the cultural heritage with an emphasis on modernism and the priority projects of Plečnik’s heritage: the central market, the Baraga seminary, the Bežigrad stadium and Križanke.
